Domestic Programs

Interactive Health Education

POMk Project collaborates with POMk Project FMU, a student circle at Fukushima Medical University, to provide interactive classes about human body systems and disease mechanisms in elementary and middle schools throughout Fukushima Prefecture.

Hands-on Learning Approach

Lung Model

Our educational program goes beyond traditional lectures by incorporating abundant hands-on activities. Students engage in various practical exercises, such as:

  • Creating lung models using plastic bottles and balloons
  • Measuring their own blood pressure
  • Participating in interactive demonstrations

These hands-on experiences help cultivate scientific observation skills and critical thinking.

Broader Impact

Our program creates multiple positive outcomes:

Family Education

By targeting elementary and middle school students, we create opportunities for health discussions during family time, extending our educational impact to entire households.

Student Teacher Development

University students involved in teaching develop valuable skills in:

  • Communicating complex medical knowledge
  • Engaging with younger students
  • Developing educational materials
  • Public speaking
Textbooks for Japanese elementary and junior high schools.

Future Developments

While our program began with school-age children, we recognize the importance of adult education in improving society’s overall health. We are currently planning to expand our programs to include:

  • Adult education initiatives
  • Community health workshops
  • Specialized programs for different age groups
